What does it mean to be a sending church or partner church?


Sending Church

A Sending Church is the primary or “lead” partner church for a church plant and planter.

 

Desired Components:

  1. Provides ongoing monthly financial support and ideally up front finances.
  2. Sends mission teams and encourages people to serve as team members or interns.
  3. Prays faithfully for the church plant, the planter, and the community.
  4. Advocates for others to help the church plant.
  5. Provides the supervisor for the church planter.
  6. Assumes a greater sense of responsibility for the church plant, planter, and planter’s family than does the average partner church.


Partner Church

The Partner Church works alongside the Sending Church and other Partner Churches to provide for the plant, planter, and planter’s family.

 

Desired Components:

  1. Provides ongoing monthly financial support and ideally up front finances.
  2. Sends mission teams and encourages people to serve as team members or interns.
  3. Prays faithfully for the church plant, the planter, and the community.
  4. Advocates for others to help the church plant.
